alder

The alder we use is red alder. It is a sustainable hardwood grown in the coastal regions of North America and the most abundant hardwood in the Pacific Northwest. The grain in clear alder is usually straight and uniform. The color ranges from light tan to reddish brown, getting darker and redder with age.
